Now Im sorry. Was it that i did not attend a movie from Sept-Nov (except Rock N Rola) or did nothing at all come out this year? Or is it that only movies released between Thanksgiving and Chritsmas are only considered….thats starting to be the trend. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THESE MOVIES!!!! Only movies on here that I have scene were Tropic Thunder and Dark Knight. All the others I’ve heard of but never was interested enough to see them…I do want to see Slum Dog Millionaire though. I mean Gran Torino and Dark Knight were suppose to be in the Best Film category but were snubbed.
All the people on everywhere were hating on Dark Knight saying it doesn’t deserve to be nominated for best Picture bc its a comic book movie. Thats stupid. Hands down it was great and though I have not seen any of the movies being nominated as of today 1/23/09 i can garandamnte you it will be forever known by everyone and have made more money on its opening night than all these nominated movies combined. Go back and read my review on it. The camera work and directing were great. DK was Nominated for best Cinematography/Editing/Make up/Sound/Sound mixing/Visual effects. Academy people are stupid liberal yuppies.
I did the EPK (electronic Press kits) and trailers and dubs for MILK here at work and my older co workers told me the real life story about the events in that movie and after all that I wasnt too interested in seeing it in theatres. They also shot the movie at my school CSUN….i also saw some shots of the new star trek movie there last spring break.
Robert Downey Jr gets a nom for his role in Tropic Thunder for playing a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude and he is up against the over hyped Ledger. AGAIN i think Ledger was good in DK but not great. Ok now again all you haters…step back, stop yelling at the computer and ask yourself this “IF Ledger was still alive today would i think he did such a great job playing the joker?” Again i think he was good but not great. He was one component that was placed properly to make that movie great.
Next paycheck I have to go see me some of these ‘Best Picture” movies. I was tempted to see Slum Dog at Arch Light bc it was the only place holding it until it won everything at the Goldne Globes. I just didnt want to blow 16 bux to see it. my co worker Sara said it was good. Who knows…
So instead of giving a blind perdictionn as to who will win what this year, ill say nothing only bc i havnt seen these uninteresting looking movies.
Any of you guys seen em? If so what do you think?
thanks
-Albert
